"Run From the Cops" 5K
Hosted by the Vernon Hills Police Department

Do you really run
from cops?

Absolutely!  Officers line up at the back of the starting gate and  "chase" participants through the course.  As our event has grown officers from surrounding communities have also joined the cause.  This year we welcome officers from:

Algonquin Police Dept.
Highland Park Police Dept.
Buffalo Grove Police Dept.
Glenview Police Dept.
Grayslake Police Dept.
Lake Forest Police Dept.
Lake Bluff Police Dept.
Waukegan Police Dept.
Urbana Police Dept.

The proceeds of this event will once again benefit The Sentinels of Freedom wounded veterans charity

In 2008 members of the Vernon Hills Police Department established the "Run From the Cops"5K as a way to facilitate positive interaction with our community while raising money for our nations wounded veterans.  Since then, volunteer members of the department along with our families, friends and community volunteers  have raised over $40, ooo for our nation's heroes.  This year, 100% of the net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Sentinels of FreedomIt is the
